Of course, your social media posts that reveal your passions, values, and interests are fine. But there is one very important type of post that you should periodically and strategically make. Those are posts that show you are financially independent. Dating a rich man will cause some to assume you are a gold-digger. Some may even accuse you of being one. Don’t get defensive. People often project their insecurities or biases. You don’t need to justify your intentions to everyone. But you can use social media to highlight the fact that you value ambition because you are also a person who tries to succeed. Keep your hustle visible. It’s OK to reveal that you are investing, acquiring skills, and attaining goals. If your intent is to marry rich, these areas are no place to be humble. Keep your financial independence and aspirations visible.
Remember, the family members of your prospects are going to research you as your relationship with a rich man develops. So, stage your online presence for them as well.
Historically, rich families frowned upon their sons marrying poor girls. This is still true especially where the man’s wealth is “old money” or where prestige matters to their businesses. But this isn’t the case for entrepreneurial families “new money” where character is increasingly valued over background.
Self-made millionaires and billionaires, many whom have grown up poor themselves, are more open-minded. And many of them seek Stay-at-Home-Moms and so aren’t seeking wives who have or make their own money.
